Silk Painting
Process |
|
| Step 1: The silk is stretched on the worktables, and the design is applied free-hand, with no screens. Every area is painted, using high quality dyes made especially for silk. | |

Step 2: The last part to be dyed is always the background color. |
| Step 3: When the piece is completely dried, it is ready for steaming, a process which bonds the dye to the fibre. Later it will be washed thoroughly, ironed, and sent to the seamstress. | |

Step 4: Voila! Wearable art that can be washed or dry-cleaned. This is a square chiffon silk scarf, measuring 42" x 42". |
